Poole High Sixth Form is a lively, vibrant but industrious community built on many years of successful results. We are a large senior school with a diverse range of courses ranging from level 1 to level 3.
We integrate a wide range of intervention strategies to ensure that each student is personally supported. Primarily we have an extensive academic counselling program which enables a one to one conversation every half term.
We understand that, in the current economic climate, academic achievement will not in itself guarantee success. As such, we value the development of transferable academic and vocational skills. We understand that independent thinkers are better able to negotiate the adult world and be more successful in their academic studies. Therefore we ensure that students are offered the “whole package” and not just focus on their academic success.
We have exceptionally high standards with regards to punctuality and attendance levels, ensuring that students realise the importance of these life skills. We appreciate that every child is an individual, and commit ourselves to helping all our students realise their potential. To that end, we work closely with parents to ensure that every student is supported and challenged.
Poole High Senior School have an extensive enrichment program which includes a variety of outside speakers to present on important issues. We also encourage students to experience how it feels to be “outside their comfort zone” by entering the Senior School Charity events such as the “Talent” show and presenting in front of their peers.
